Tours of the wind towers near Minot will be available along with a walking tour of a wind turbine blade resting on the site.

Basin Electric Power Cooperative will dedicate the 80 towers in two wind projects south of Minot in a ceremony June 17.
The event begins at 2:30 p.m. in the project’s operations and maintenance center located three miles south and two miles east of the junction of U.S. Highway 83 and North Dakota Highway 23 on Ward County Road 22.
Representatives from Basin Electric and Verendrye Electric are scheduled to speak. Tours of the wind towers will be available along with a walking tour of a wind turbine blade resting on the site.
PrairieWinds ND 1 Inc., a subsidiary of Basin Electric, developed the projects.
