Book a tour at one of Basin Electric’s North Dakota electric generation power plants or the Great Plains Synfuels Plant. Discover that clean power begins at
Antelope Valley Station’s turbine bay (
video). Your tour guide will tell you that our power plants are among the cleanest coal-based facilities in the nation.
If you’re in Wyoming, make a point to tour the Laramie River Station, near Wheatland. For the past 20 years, LRS has ranked as one of America’s cleanest and most efficient coal-based power plants.
Don’t forget to stop at Headquarters in Bismarck, ND. Visit our Security/Response Center where they dispatch line crews and provide a call-in service for 58 distribution cooperatives. Get to know some of the managers, engineers, accountants, communicators and technicians – they’re working for our members.

Clean power plants
In 1997, former senior vice president of Operations & Engineering, Rich Fockler, reflected on a 35-year Basin Electric tradition of maintaining power plants at optimum levels of industrial hygiene and performance maintenance.
He said, “If you drop your sandwich on the turbine bay floor at any of our power plants, you can pick it up and eat it.”

No complaints
"After touring this plant, and seeing what's required to produce and deliver electricity to my house, I'll never again complain about my electric bill."
~Iowa electric co-op consumer
